On December 16th, thousands of people across the country came together at national cemeteries to unload and lay wreaths on the graves of those who have served our country. It was National Wreaths Across America Day, and among the thousands were dozens of Heritage family members, two of which had each delivered a full truckload of wreaths each. Fifteen days earlier, Heritage Transport drivers Richard Coffey and Justin McMasters drove over 6,500 miles to Columbia Falls, Maine to fill their military-wrapped trucks with wreaths, and deliver them to national cemeteries around the U.S., including Arlington, VA; Little Rock, AR; Chicago, IL; Coolidge, AZ; Toledo, OH; and Indianapolis, IN. Once their deliveries had been made, Heritage family members gathered at seven of those nine cemeteries to honor family members, friends, and others who served our country.
Heritage Environmental Services is honored to be a part of this amazing effort for seventh year in row. In addition to the efforts of our Heritage Transport drivers, over 100 employees donated to the cause, and we were able to purchase nearly 900 wreaths.
Since 1992, Wreaths Across America has had the goal of remembering and honoring veterans and teaching future generations the value of freedom through fundraising and education efforts that culminate annually on what is now National Wreaths Across America Day (the third Saturday in December).
