When did you start at Heritage (or previously acquired companies) and what was your first position?

I started in 1996 as a Document Control Specialist in the Kansas City Plant

Define a great leader—what are some traits you think great leaders possess?

A great leader motivates and encourages the people around them to strive to do better, to give their best every day. A great leader is assertive, compassionate, and transparent. A leader connects with others on an organic level that easy to see and feel.

What is one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in your career?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is ensuring my voice and the voice of other women in this industry is heard, impactful, and valued. I feel very fortunate to have many strong women leaders in The Heritage family to inspire me.

Do you have any tips, strategies you’ve employed, or lessons learned throughout your career that you would like to share with aspiring female leaders?

Try everything! Say YES to new experiences even if it scares you. Stand up for what you believe in. Be fair. Be firm.
