A good leader should have integrity, self-awareness, courage, the respect of their peers and etc., compassion and the ability to listen. They should be able to flex their influence not their title or “muscle”. Good leaders show gratitude often, empower their employees, and inspire those around them, both professionally and personally to just be better humans.
Remembering always that there are good people, good days, and good lessons to be had. Don’t let the stressful days get you down. Express appreciation and insert humor into every day that you can.
I am so fortunate to have had so many wonderful female co-workers/mentors in my 25+ years with Heritage. There is no possible way I could pick one. Some have been a brain to pick, some an ear to listen, some have provided candid feedback and others a gentle push in the right direction. You know who you are and I am lucky to know you. Thank you.
Do you have any tips, strategies you’ve employed, or lessons learned throughout your career that you would like to share with aspiring female professionals?
