Last week we took “team building” to a whole new level with Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity, one of our corporate charities. In the parking lot of The Center (The Heritage Group HQ) volunteers from our Indy offices worked together to build a complete house frame that will be for a local single mother of two in the Indianapolis.
In Indiana, the average hourly wage necessary to afford a two‐bedroom fair market rent unit is $14.03; more than half of Hoosier renters (52%) cannot afford the fair market rate, according to an Indiana 211 Partnership Community Report. Since 1987, Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity has connected countless people throughout the greater Indianapolis area, collectively building homes for over 645 local families.
