Heritage continues its support and participation in Lion’s Club projects across all locations. While August is the month our employees hold our annual eye glass collection, our support is not limited.

Most recently our employees were proud to be involved in the annual Christmas dinner for the Blind. This is the 5th year we have participated. The Christmas dinner event started almost 90 Years ago and is considered the oldest running Lions Club Project on the planet! As you may know, the Lions Club started in Chicago around 1917 and Hellen Keller Knighted the Lions Club as her “Knights For The Blind.” We continue this tradition each year in Toledo and hope to keep it going for many more to come!

The kids pictured at the event are LEO’s kids (special Lion’s Club volunteers between 12 and 18 years of age). They come out each year, set up tables, serve dinners, clean up the mess, tear down, and sing Christmas Carols. Employee Scot Lawson shared, “Heritage Toledo is a long time sponsor of the Lions Club events and it makes me proud to say I work here!!  I want to reach out and say thanks for the support and help on the projects.”
